Mussels from Mont St. Michel - France

Known by their black shells and abundant, orangey-yellow flesh, bouchot mussels from Mont-Saint-Michel Bay are one of the gastronomic gems of the region.

This is a shellfish with creamy, soft flesh and melt-in-the-mouth texture and a delicious iodized and sweet taste.

It can be enjoyed from July to February, marinière-style with white wine and herbs, in a cream sauce, grilled or in a risotto. 

The Bouchot Mussel is one of the jewels of Breton gastronomy, which has earned it to be the first seafood product to obtain a European PDO label.
